National Bookstart Day 2007

Friday 5 October is National Bookstart Day 2007 and the theme is Jungle Party! Axel Scheffler, the illustrator of Monkey Puzzle and The Gruffalo, has generously donated a unique and wonderful image to celebrate the day.
 
We hope that you will join us in celebrating the continued success of the world’s first national books-for-babies scheme in your bookshop by
  • helping families select the best books for under fives from your range
  • running a promotion on jungle-themed books for babies
  • distributing the free point-of-sale materials (bookmarks and stickers) during the first week of October and especially on Friday 5 October
  • running your own Bookstart Rhymetime event singing rhymes or reading stories to babies and toddlers

Point-of-sale materials

Point-of-sale materials have been sent to all independent booksellers that accept the £1 National Book Token enclosed in Bookstart+ packs and Treasure Chest, as well as the following book chains:

    Each point-of-sale pack contains one A2 poster, two A3 posters, three A4 posters, 100 bookmarks and 112 stickers.
     


    If you do not receive a point-of-sale pack and would like to celebrate National Bookstart Day in October, or if you would like to send in feedback on this year’s campaign, please email nationalbookstartday@booktrust.org.uk.     A limited number of National Bookstart Day posters have also been produced in Welsh. To request Welsh language posters, please email nationalbookstartday@booktrust.org.uk
