How to make the mask
The mask is easy to make if you follow these simple instructions:
- Click on the monkey mask to download it
- Print it out
- Stick the printed copy on a piece of thin cardboard
- Help your child or baby to colour it in
- Cut out the mask, following the dashed line. Then carefully cut holes for the eyes and mouth
- Measure out a length of string that will fit around your child’s head
- Make two small incisions on two of the crosses, one either side of the mask. Choose which crosses to use according to the size of your child.
- Push the piece of string through the slits and secure with a knot.
We are holding Bookstart Rhymetime sessions simultaneously across the entire country on National Bookstart Day, Friday 5 October, an ideal opportunity for your child to show off their mask once it is complete!
