National Bookstart Day 2007

National Bookstart Day took place on Friday 5 October, with over 2,000 jungle parties taking place around the country.

Libraries and children's centres resounded to the rhythm of jungle songs and rhymes to make this our biggest ever celebration of the Bookstart programme.

There were National Bookstart Day parties at Edinburgh Zoo, Chester Zoo and Manchester Museum, with a special launch event at London Zoo, attended by over 100 special guests from local Sure Start centres and libraries.

Thank you to everyone who organised all the wonderful events this year and for making National Bookstart Day 2007 such a fantastic celebration.

Here's looking to next year where the theme will be 'Pirates'!
